A Lidl Tipple

We won't get into why I haven't written a blog in about 6 months,
This is a quick post to suggest that you hotfoot it to your local Lidl. Stock will disappear quickly from the wine cellar crates - particularly with the current "20% off any 3 bottles" (from the crates) offer.
I picked this Salento Primitivo up yesterday at £7.99 (-£1.60 - more on the other 2 bottles if they deserve it.)
At £6.39, this is the best wine I've had at that price point in a very long time.
Medium bodied, but robust black fruit and spicy flavours with decent length. If you like Zinfandel or Shiraz - put this on your budget shopping list. But don't wait till the weekend.

My name's Heather and I've been enjoying wine for over 20 years. I'm the 2013 winner of the Wine and Spirit Education Trust Rhone prize for oustanding students at the advanced level.

For a woman, 2-3 units per day is the recommended maximum allowance. This equates to around one standard "pub measure" glass of wine:
175ml of 13% alcohol wine is 2.3 units (and a scary 140 calories).
